1. Data Controller Identity
The data controller for this website is THEAUTOMATELAB, with registered office at Pinerolo (TO), VAT number 13403230017. You can contact the data controller via Contact Form for any inquiries related to the processing of your personal data.
2. What Data We Collect
This website does not collect, store, or process any personal data on its servers. We do not use analytics services, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or any form of user profiling. The only data stored is limited to your browser's localStorage for the following technical preferences:
- Theme preference (dark/light mode selection)
- Sound preference (sound effects on/off)
- Cookie consent record (your consent choice and timestamp)
This data remains entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
The storage of technical identifiers in the user's browser localStorage is exempt from consent under Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Italian Data Protection Code), as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, implementing Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), and in accordance with the guidelines on the use of cookies and other tracking tools adopted by the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali on 10 June 2021. These are technical tools strictly necessary for delivering the functionality explicitly requested by the user (e.g., remembering the selected theme, sound preference, or cookie consent choice).
Personal data optionally provided by users through the Contact Form or the booking widget embedded on the /book-a-call page is processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of pre-contractual and contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject).
4. Purpose of Processing
The technical preferences stored in your browser serve the following purposes:
- Remembering your preferred visual theme (dark or light mode) so you do not need to set it on every visit
- Remembering your sound preference so audio feedback settings persist across sessions
- Recording your cookie consent choice so the consent banner is not shown repeatedly
No data is used for marketing, profiling, behavioral analysis, or any purpose other than delivering the technical functionality described above.
5. Data Retention Periods
Since all data is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage, retention is under your full control:
- Theme and sound preferences: stored until you clear your browser data or change the setting
- Cookie consent record: stored for 6 months from the date of your consent choice, after which the consent banner will reappear
No data is retained on our servers at any time.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
Under Articles 15 through 22 of the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15): You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed and, if so, to access that data.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16): You have the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17): You have the right to obtain the erasure of personal data concerning you ('right to be forgotten'), within the limits set by law.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18): You have the right to obtain restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20): You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, for processing based on consent or contract carried out by automated means.
- Right to object (Art. 21): You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, limited to processing based on the controller's legitimate interest.
- Right not to be subject to automated decision-making (Art. 22): You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling. The controller does not carry out such processing.
With respect to data stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage, you may delete it at any time through your browser settings. This technical option does not replace or limit the exercise of the rights listed above against the controller, which may be exercised by submitting a request through the Contact Form; the controller will respond within 30 days pursuant to Article 12(3) GDPR.
7. Right to Lodge a Complaint
